February 23, 2008 - September 7, 2008: The Museum of Making Music takes a close look at the innovation of the violin. This special exhibition explores the transplanting of European violin making traditions to American soil by 19th and 20th century immigrants and how communities in the New World added innovation to tradition to ultimately create a unique musical identity.

From June 1, 2008 through February 20, 2009, the Museum presents a special spotlight exhibition in celebration of The Gretsch Company's 125th Anniversary.

At 5 PM, singer/songwriter/rock violinist Antonio Pontarelli presents an educational demonstration, workshop and rock-focused concert that highlights the evolution of sound and music from acoustic and electric violins. Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 for museum members and $7 for students.

At 2 PM, Chapman Stick player Tom Griesgraber and Bert Lams (California Guitar Trio) present an intimate concert at the Museum of Making Music. Tickets are $10; $7 for museum members.

At 1 PM, Ed Roscetti & Maria Martinez, both critically acclaimed drummers, composers, authors, and educators, present World Beat Rhythms Interactive Concert. Grab a drum provided by the museum and discover how much fun drumming is! Admission is $10; $5 for students, seniors and Museum members.
